Agasthyarkoodam Trekking is a trek guide and guided-batch service run by KeralaTrekking, an independent trekking community based in Kerala. We built this site because the questions about this mountain are always the same, and they deserve clear, honest answers in one place.
Who we are
KeralaTrekking started in early 2023 as a small effort to share trek information, and grew into a community that runs guided treks every week across Kerala. We think of ourselves as Kerala’s trekking community: people who love the Western Ghats and want more people to experience them safely and respectfully.
Many of our trekkers are first-timers doing something bigger than they thought possible, and we love watching that moment at the top. That is the reason we write guides that tell you the hard parts as plainly as the beautiful ones.
What we do
- Publish practical guides on Agasthyarkoodam: route, permits, season, fitness and packing.
- Run guided batches, so you trek with a group and clear instructions.
- Help participants prepare documents and gear before the trek.
- Answer questions on WhatsApp before and after you book.
What we are not
We are not the Kerala Forest Department. Forest permits are issued by the Forest Department, and we help trekkers get them as part of a guided batch. The Forest Department sets the season, quota, fee and rules, and enforces them on the trail. We do not claim any official status or exclusive access to the mountain. Where this site quotes figures from a season, we say which one, and we urge you to confirm on the official portal.
Our approach to safety
We tell you honestly when a trek is hard. We ask about your experience and fitness so we can say honestly whether a batch suits you, and we follow the instructions of the forest staff and guides on the trail. If conditions are not right on the day, the safe decision wins over the schedule.
